If you haven’t already, sign up now for flood alerts and warnings, go to: www.gov.uk/get-flood-warnings CALL: 0345 988 1188 or TEXT PHONE: 0345 602 6340.

IN ADDITION:

You can now sign up to get alerts when water levels in the Ousemere Lode become high, potentially giving earlier warnings of the risk of flooding. The village has successfully applied for 4 digital telemetry posts to be positioned along the Ousemere Lode from Victoria Bridge, upstream to Mareham Lane. Alerts are automatically sent via text message or email to those signed up once the yellow (high) level marker has been reached. Alerts continue to be sent every 60 minutes whilst the level remains above the yellow threshold. Alerts cease once the water level drops below the yellow marker.

TO SIGN UP TO THIS SYSTEM PLEASE EMAIL: innovative.resilience@lincolshire.gov.uk, giving your name, email and phone no if you would like text alerts.

Those signed up to receive alerts can also check information on the portal which is updated every 15 minutes. Currently, once a post has been triggered, its’ location pin turns red but the actual level of threat, i.e. yellow, (high), or red, (expect flooding), can be checked on the graph information, (accessed by clicking “read more”). Going forward, although not available yet, the coloured pole location pin will denote the level; yellow/high, or red/expect flooding.
